"The Language of Immigration" Panel Discussion

NAHJ Nevada's "The Language of Immigration" panel was held Saturday, June 16, and hosted by the Mexican Consul of Las Vegas. Dozens of journalists and community activists turned out to learn more about the implications of the words we use to discuss immigration. Our panelists included El Mundo Editor Eddie Escobedo Jr. and Las Vegas Review-Journal Editor Mike Hengel; immigration law professor Fatma Marouf and linguistics professor Steven McCafferty, and DREAM Act activist Astrid Silva.
